CLASSES

Snellville Performing Arts is excited to announce our Fall class offerings.  This Fall, enjoy classes for all ages and levels, from conditioning classes for ages 5 through adults to dance classes in a variety of styles, and voice and acting classes that we can't wait to enjoy alongside our students!  Our staff members, teachers, students, and families all work together to create a supporting, engaging, and fun atmosphere.  We encourage our students to not only learn skills in dance, voice, and performance, but also recognize and encourage personal, emotional, and social growth, as well.  Snellville Performing Arts strives to serve the whole student and we expect everyone who enters our doors to add to this compassionate experience.

REGISTERING FOR OUR FALL 2020 STUDIO CLASSES

We have reduced our maximum class sizes this year to accommodate for social distancing and more individualized instruction time within small groups.  We expect classes to fill up quickly, so please reserve your spot!  You can register using the buttons paired with each class description below!

TUITION & REGISTRATION FEES

Registration fees are $25 per student.  Instead of a monthly tuition, Snellville Performing Arts will charge a single class tuition of $100 per class for our ten-week Fall class session (See calendar at the bottom of the page). *Discounts Available; see below for current offers!

ages 10 & Under

Classes listed below are intended for performers aged 3-10.  Each class lists the title, a short class description, the age range the class is intended for, and the day and time the class will meet each week of the ten-week Fall semester.

In this class, children will warm up, stretch, and learn simple guided movements and kid-friendly dance routines!  This class encourages children to develop healthy habits and incorporate fitness as a natural part of their their lives by making fitness fun!

AGES: 5-10          Mondays 6:30pm-7:20pm

Kid fit

My first mini-musical

In this class, students will get their first taste of what it's like to be a part of a musical!  We will take a well-loved, familiar story and teach stage directions, blocking, choreography, and music to create a fun performance for friends and family to see at the end of our ten-week session.

AGES: 7-10          Mondays 5:30-6:20pm

ballet-jazz-tap

In our combined Ballet-Jazz-Tap class, our youngest dancers will warm up, stretch, and learn basic movement and terminology, focusing on building gross motor skills, making controlled movements, and gaining confidence in these three areas of dance.

AGES: 3-5          Mondays 5:30pm-6:20pm

In this combined Jazz-Tap class, dancers will begin learning the fundamentals of jazz and tap techniques, continue building gross motor skills, and gain confidence in these areas of dance.  This class will use warm-ups, exercises, and combinations to learn, encourage, and develop rhythm and performance skills with a variety of music and movements.

 AGES: 6-7          Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:20pm

JAZZ-TAP 1

JAZZ-TAP 2

In this combined Jazz-Tap class, dancers will begin applying the basics of jazz and tap techniques as they build gross motor skills and confidence.  This class will use warm-ups, exercises, and combinations to learn, encourage, and develop rhythm and performance skills with a variety of music and movements.

AGES: 8-10          Wednesdays 6:30pm-7:20pm

In this class, beginner dancers will focus on learning the fundamental movements of classical ballet with a focus on body alignment and technique as they develop control, strength, and coordination in this area of dance.

In this class, dancers will continue a focus on body alignment and technique to strengthen their knowledge and practice of the fundamental movements in classical ballet.  Dancers will build more challenging skills while developing strength, focus, and flexibility in this style of dance.

ages 11 & Up

This class is a fun-filled, dance-based cardio class that alternates between high and low intensity movements while learning fun routines that maximize your calorie-burning potential.

dance fitness

MONOLOGUE A SONG

In this class, students will tackle important topics as they are introduced to some of the core principles of performance while focusing on script and character analysis.  This class will culminate in a short performance piece and a reflection based on feedback from their peers all used to better a student's ability to connect with an audience through song.

AGES: 13-18         Mondays 6:30pm-7:20pm

studio voice

This class is designed to help students gain both confidence in and knowledge about their own voice.  This is a practical class that will help students to recognize their vocal range, study and select appropriate audition songs that best suit their type and voice, and stretch their musical theatre repertoire.  Through warm-ups, exercises, and technique training, students will stretch themselves and have a guided focus on a piece of music that they can feel confident in adding to their audition and performance book.  

AGES: 11-18     Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:20pm

Warm up, stretch, and get ready to move!  This course encourages students to learn, understand, and put to practice a variety of conditioning skills that will help actors and dancers of any level.

This class uses a combination of dance styles to teach beginner and intermediate students in the musical theatre style of dance.  This class will use  warm ups, exercises, and combinations that focus on building coordination and confidence in choreography and movement while learning fun routines to some of our Broadway favorites.

Musical Theatre Dance 1

This advanced musical theatre dance class is for performers with a passion for dance and includes a more serious and technical approach to choreography and dance.  This is a fast-paced class for intermediate and advanced students to learn high intensity, professional style combinations to some of Broadway's biggest hits.

Payment plans can be discussed based on a family’s needs and must be done through our Executive Director, Stephanie McDonald. Otherwise, full tuition should be paid prior to the beginning of classes. 

CLASS REMINDERS & GUIDELINES

Please be on time for both the start and finish of your student’s class.  Your student’s teacher will meet them at the studio’s front door to collect their class as parent entry to the studio is still limited due to Covid19.  Doors will remain closed during classes to minimize distractions and to ensure that students remain focused and engaged during their scheduled class.  Please make sure your student’s hair is secured for dance classes and that all students arrive dressed appropriately for their classes. 

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES & REQUIREMENTS:

- Students who exhibit any symptoms of Covid-19, including cough, shortness of breath, fever, etc will not be permitted to attend classes

- All students and staff must be masked before entering the studio and will remain masked during classes

- Temperatures of staff and students will be taken upon entrance

- Students will use hand sanitizer upon entrance

- Students will be limited to one bag or backpack and must store them in their designated cubby in the back studio

- SPA will limit the number of students per class
- SPA will limit foot traffic inside the studio lobby
- SPA will limit the use of handheld props for all classes
- Dance floors will be marked to allow for social distancing

- All frequently touched surfaces will be sanitized between each class
