Snellville Performing Arts is raising urgently needed funds in order to continue creating engaging, educational, and exciting arts opportunities for our community.

As a result of our outstanding programming - along with hard work, careful planning, and extremely supportive family and friends - the Snellville Performing Arts Studio and Main Street Theatre has had an exciting and successful start.  While our community has always had a vast array of sports related activities, open fields, basketball and tennis courts, and community support for the athletics associations, there are very few accessible venues available for those interested in the performing arts.  In the last year, award-winning Snellville Performing Arts has filled that gap, hosting a consistently growing Summer intensive musical theatre program, a completely sold out Fall production, fun community events like free movie nights and craft fairs, multiple sold out cabaret performances, and a wide variety of Winter and Spring session classes for all ages.  In our first year, we had students who shined during adjudication at the iTheatrics International Junior Theatre Festival, were invited to perform at Atlanta Gladiators Hockey games, donated food and funds to the Southeast Gwinnett Co-op Ministry and other local charities (RD Head, Camp Caroline, Atlanta Humane Society, Will to Live Foundation, etc), sent hundreds of shoes to those in need with GotSneakers, and were voted among the prestigious Best In Gwinnett for 2019.  We have worked hard to provide quality arts education to our students, a full calendar of exciting and interesting events for our community, and support to the families and individuals in need as we strive to always exemplify our second motto: be kind; do good. In order to continue doing so, we need your help!

During this extraordinary and trying time, many small businesses around the country have closed temporarily and as further measures have been taken to ensure safety, many are closing permanently because they are unable to sustain without clients and customers.  We have had to suspend all gatherings, activities, and performances in our space, as well, but still have overhead costs and utilities that will be due throughout the pandemic and beyond. To that end, we are turning to our community, friends, and families and asking for your support.  We want to continue providing quality programming and arts education to our students, but we are urgently in need of funds to sustain us until we can open our doors again. We appreciate any donation that you may be able to provide and will use those funds to pay for our building lease, electricity, water, gas, internet, insurance, and other bills and upkeep at the studio and theatre. We have set a $20,000 fundraising goal to help alleviate some of these hard costs as we transition through and past this difficult time.

At the end of the day, those of you who know me and know our team also know that our hearts and our passion are with our students.  We want to make sure that whenever this is all over, we are still here and able to open our doors to take them in again.  Whether you donate (if your family is able to do so) or if you just share the link with friends and family, we appreciate it more than you know.

To all who donate, thank you and know that we appreciate your commitment to supporting the arts during this time.  We welcome you to our Snellville Performing Arts family and we can't wait to see you all again soon.

With appreciation and sincerely yours,

Stephanie McDonald
